Think green for the holidays...

Today and everyday, while looking for holiday gifts, or any other type of presents, think about getting something that will not add to the burden of harming our earth.

Give a plant, clothing that has been made with recyclable products, or give a donation in someone's name to help sustain and maintain the earth.

For our part, let's consume less by making our world a better place to live; for now and the future.

Below is a video from Jose Pepe Murcia from Uruguay, addressing the UN about our sustainability and environment. He is just one of many people trying to guide us in making better choices to protect our earth.

The full discourse can be seen on YouTube, in both English and Spanish, with the links provided at the end of this post.

Leni - Paula

Hi. I'm Leni Negron and I am writing to Paula, who is my pen pal in Spain. I'm an eighth grader in Ms. Aguilar's Spanish class. I've learned a lot about Paula so far, like that she enjoys English and going to the park with her friends. I think this program is really cool and will help both of us learn different languages and cultures. I really like writing to her and I think it's really fun and I'd like to do it for a long time.

Project news

This project began a long time ago with the idea of creating pen pals, an environmental service activity and a tour to the Extramedura Region of Spain.

This is an intercultural endeavor from students at Pershing Middle School in Houston, Texas with the city and students from Burguillos del Cerro, Badajoz; and Extremadura Spain.
